woke up this morning to a flat tyre
heading to fast fix tomorrow to get it sorted
have the temporary thin tyre on the moment
kind of live in the middle of nowhere and wondering if I should be housebound this evening

How much can you drive on a temporary tyre?

As far as I know in Ireland as long as you want as long as the thread depth is 1.6mm or greater. Some have a stamped speed limit on the side of the wheel but this has no legal baring whatsoever in Ireland as we have backward laws thought out by idiots.

Bare in mind that when driving one your car is lobsided and handling is rubbish and I would think the chances of an accident with it increase considerably.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

What he said. A neighbour is driving on the skinny spare for months now

I'd be careful, not go over 80km/h and get it changed asap. That said, it wouldn't stop my from going out tonight.

I know a few people who have done this as well. I even see people cruising down the highway on a donut sometimes.

It blows my mind why anyone would think this is a good idea. Change it ASAP! Like Tipsy Mac said, even if the tire doesn't pop, you will still severely hamper your steering and stability.

Just take it handy to where ever your going and it will be fine. Just don't do any Schumacher type maneuvers on the way there.

Ah the old "bastard wheel" as it's known down these parts.
