Purchased one of these before Christmas when they first came out, great device, very forgiving should it be dropped and easy to use.

Anyone else got experience with this make? I've been looking for a drive about this size for ages but I don't really know what I'm looking at. Would anyone else recommend Transcend and think this is a good deal?

Unfortunately Transcend do not release this level of information on their drives. All I can say is, these are very very reliable!

I ordered one of these drives on Friday afternoon and dropped over and collected it from their office in Celbridge before they closed. No charge for collections. Also picked up a 4GB Sandisk Micro SDHC card for 9.11 Euro. As a previous customer of MemoryC all I can say is keep up the good work guys!!!.

Yes, it is powered by the USB port. It comes with a dual USB cable so you can plug it into two USB ports in case your PC/Mac does not supply enough power for it to operate.

If anyone misses out you could DIY similar with an external Drive and case for about the same money, but I like the idea of a drive that's supposed to be shock protected for a four foot drop.

ordered mine.

i already have an external drive that i put together with 2.5" laptop disc and case. but i think it's not very healthy and safe. don't spend time and take risk, just go for assembled and shock proof ones, like transcend.

I tought the extent of the durablity was from the rubber on the outside but the disk itself has a rubber buffer surround aswell!
