    Hi

Any information on the 9 mile race in Calry, Sligo on Saturday? I hear this is a handicapped run. Can you just turn up on the day and get a handicap. Not sure if I will do this but it sounds interesting.

Attached is the flyer for this event, I'm sure you can just turn up but you might want to try phoning one of the numbers on the poster.

Info below from one of the organisers:
The Dominic o Hara race(approx 9miles but feels like twenty) has been going on continuosly for longer than any other race in Sligo and possibly longer than any other race in Ireland.
It is staged over an undulating course(fancy word for bloody hilly ) in Calry and is on a handicap basis so everyone(in theory) has a chance to win.
It is usually won by the person who shoves the biggest envelope into the handicappers pocket up to ten minutes before the start.
    I am joking of course.
The race commemorates a young Calry athlete who died over forty years ago while still in his teens.

I'm not up to it this week but should be a good event.
