Hi I was wondering if anyone knew the answer to this; I get paid weekly at work. I am in sales. I had a sale cancel on me this week that I've been paid commission for and now the boss is saying that I will have to pay back the comms from my basic as sales have been slow to come in this week. As far as I know that's not legal as it has to come off any comms earnt? Help!

    What they're doing isn't illegal.

    From Citizens Information -
An employer may not make deductions from your wages unless:

They are to recover an overpayment of wages or expenses.

It is fair to say the commision could be considered overpayment of wages.
