I have them, they look a bit cleaner and they work well, but the difference in effectiveness is not huge, IMO.

So these are the flat blades you talked about before. They are generally excellent. Fitted as standard to vw/audi for a good few years now and there is no comparison really. I find no squeeling, and no jumping off the window at speed.

Have them on both cars & they're a huge improvement.

Now that I think about it, the fact that they've never given me cause to notice them is probably a good thing. Have them on the car from new.

They squeel more than usual and leave streaks if you don't clean them regularly as there are more contact points with the aero blade wipers.

When clean they are brilliant on the windscreen and make you wonder if the old style ever even worked!

Can they be fitted to any car? How much?

Just make sure you get replacement type if your car was not fitted with them from new. Fittings are different.
Replacements will fit to the hook-type fitting on older arms, means they don't look as sleek but work fine.

There was a thread about these on another forum I frequent and the general concenses was that the Bosch ones are great but the cheaper ones weren't nearly as good after a couple of weeks of use.

Interesting. Ive only experience of original fit ones (Bosch I think). Im sure the ones using an adapter arent quite as good as when fitted direct to the proper arm as they will certainly have an extra bit of movement and movement/play causes alot of the probs with wipers.

Ive also seen replacement wiper arms for some cars so that you can fit the genuine item and have a proper set up. These may just have been off newer models of the car where the manufacturer had switched to flat blades.

Bosch ones are a lot more expensive, i got cheaper ones of ebay-retro fit, and they were only average, decent set of regular wipers would be just as good, they do look well though.

So i advise that if you are getting some get a decent make and not the cheap ones.
