motor factors becoming interested in diyers

I usually get all my parts of the internet as a motor diyer.
Being stuckfor a set of brake pads over christmas rang my local motor factors they had them in stock and at a very reasonable price hmmmm.

So I needed a service kit and some other bits for a car, I was pricing it on the net and thought hey, lets try my local motor factors again.

I tried the guy got a good price, the place is usually too busy to even get served normaly, this time it was empty. I bought my parts and they were pretty good price and were there the next day.

I think maybe internet prices are creeping up and our own local prices are plummeting. So maybe rather than reaching for the mouse it's worth checking localy now. Your also supporting local business.

I have never ordered parts off the internet, I can think of nothing worse than having the oil drained from the car, filter off and finding there is a minuscule difference in the replacement filter, as can happen.

At least if it's the local motor factors it's only a matter of borrowing a car and swapping for the correct unit.

Which place would that be, out of interest?

Ha no they seem to be the cheapest with the easiest access and parking. The other two are in town and it's often a pain to get parking and the likes!

Have to say always get my bits and bobs from the local motor factors....
last time I checked price wasn't that big a difference, and it is much easier to get problems sorted if anything is wrong....
