Title says it all really. Moving to Ranelagh soon and was looking for recommendation for a butchers and for a fruit&veg shop in or nearby.

There's Mortons near the Beechwood Luas stop - pricey supermarket, but v good quality butcher counter. There's a fruit and veg shop just beside it.

Superquinn are beside the Ranelagh Luas as well - not the best range of fruit and veg, has a meat counter.

There's an old skool butchers in Rathmines, beside where the Stella cinema used to be. Dunnes Rathmines have a good fruit and veg section for the basics, Tesco Rathmines has a bad one (and needs cleaning), the Aldi Rathmines can have be surprisingly good. None of the supermarkets have a butcher's counter - just pre-packaged meat.

I second Morton's, the butcher's Lawlor's from Rathmines have a counter there, it's very good.

The butchers in Dartry isn't that far away. That's Lawlors isn't it?

Depending on what part of Ranelagh you're in, you could do worse for your veg than Roy Fox, the greengrocer's in Donnybrook beside the Garda Station. Very good for fresh fruit and veg and also carries lots of hard-to-find ingredients like spices and sauce ingredients.
