Munster A V Leinster A

    From Munsterrugby.ie

Munster ran out convincing 39-6 winners over Leinster in the A game played in front of a huge attendance at Waterpark RFC this afternooon.
A Scott Deasy try, converted by Jeremy Manning after just seven minutes gave Munster the ideal start and Manning added a penalty for a 10 point lead. Leinster out-half James Power landed a penalty but a second Deasy try, again converted by Manning, pushed the home side further in front and although Power was on the mark again before half time, an early second-half Manning converted, Duncan Williams try put this game way beyond Leinster's reach.
Tommy O'Donnell weighed in with a try in the 55th minute and two further tries from replacement Mike Sherry simply served to emphasise the dominance of a well drilled Munster side.

Munster A: Denis Hurley (M Kinsella); Finbar Ahearne, Kieran Lewis (D Barnes), Scott Deasy, Ciaran O'Boyle; Jeremy Manning, D Williams (M Prendergast,; Darragh Hurley (D Ryan), Michael Essex, Timmy Ryan; Donncha Ryan, Dave Foley; Billy Holland (I Nagle), Tommy O'Donnell, Nick Williams (K Essex).

Don't know who lined out for Leinster or how the game went other than the above article, anyone that was there care to give some more details?

Munster were simply too good for Leinster. Hurley, Manning, Williams and O'Boyle had great games. Deasy scored 2 good tries too and to be honest Leinster had nothing to give in return.

To be honest, I'm not surprised. Thats an INCREDIBLY strong Munster A squad.

McGahan was there but I was surprised not to see Cheika around checking out the A team.

Not getting into it, but i think that says a lot about his coaching style. Would love to see someone else coaching Leinster, look at the way the Leinster players are performing in Ireland A and Ireland games, the mind boggles

I was a one the A matches last year and he wasn't there either, I thought it was unusal but now it seems to be his style, odd really.

Not that you can read too much into a small clip of a nothing game, but the handling of the Munster backs is lightyears away from where it would have been in the amateur era. How small is Burke though, or are our forwards just getting huge?

    LEINSTER : N. Morris, S. Monaghan, L. Kavanagh, C. O’Donoghue, D. Moore, J. Power, S. Keogh, S. Knoop, J. Harris-Wright, J. Hagan, D. Toner, E. Sheriff, S. Keogh (captain), P. Ryan, K. McLoughlin.

A very weakened Leinster team in comparision to the Munster lineup. Acadamy players in the main.

It's a joke putting a team like that out for an A game. There's about 3 A players there and the rest are all academy. Earlier this year our proper A team beat Munster convincingly (performance wise - a lot closer on the score board, but it always is V Munster), I don't see the point on putting out a team that weak for the return.

Maybe Cheika is taking no chances and keeping a massively extended squad for the senior team in light of league action and absence of internationals for the massive away game to Ospreys next week. But a lot of those lads could do with game time instead of sending out a schools team.

Hes letting them think they are boss by beating our 3rds while they sign our academy players cause they cant produce their own.

 Academy players are like sexual and sentual young women. If you give them enough attention and let them play for a little bit, you never have to worry, they wont stray. If you ignore them, give them no attention and deny them their basic needs, you'll soon find out that they've run off with a big sexy farmer and it's too late to win them back.

The Munster team which finished the game had 11 Academy players on it. It was a pretty big mismatch though.
