    Threads started by Rorate Caeli:

    10/02/09: Trinity News Today

    26/11/08: Trinity News

    17/11/08: Trinity News

So in sum. Trinity News: very good student paper. Yesterday slightly dull. Rugby bit was good.

Posting by TN people to see if people liked TN: wack to quote yourself.

I don't really have anything to add to this thread but I think your repeated pimping is so lame that here's a picture of Mario Lopez to underline how wack this thread is:

Sorry to interrupt the talk about **** and SU ****

    You focking moderators are detestable!

Do you see PFM, Ape, Myth or myself leading the SU elections, or indeed any SU thread that happens here. No they are discussions that users want to have. They are not something pushed forward with an agenda.

You have 30 posts and have been a member for over 2 years. You have contributed to some other threads. But your main purpose when you come on here seems to be to pimp TN.

To cut a long story short. If people want to talk about TN, if they think it has done something worthy of a discussion, someone will make a thread, someone will start a conversation about it. Comedy Soc (to name the first one that comes to mind) have had threads here about their events that have been started by random punters. In the past the same has been true for the Phil and the Hist and any number of societies. Such threads are not the societies/people involved asking to be told how great the event was. They are discussions started out of interest in the general public. And that is why your pimping of TN is annoying and lame.

I think it's fair enough to look for feedback, I'd rather have a thread on boards that can be ignored than some dude wondering around the Ham or the Arts block disturbing me as I eat my Londis roll to see what I think of TN. It's quite positve that they're looking for feedback, priniting what people want as opposed to what they think we want.

Speaking of the Trinity News, whats the story with the website, trinitynews.ie Is it just not being updated or did they break it? :D

as a TN hack I oppose this thread

and re: the website, it's just laziness. It takes a lot of effort to put up the stories and it seems the person responsible has lost interest

its like such a drag to come on here and read posts about the trinity news in the trinity forum, my god you guys come on

and to see a poster looking for feedback on their paper? how selfish
its a good thing we have you a-class mods around to police such tomfoolery

on a side note, what do you think of SU Record this week? Is good, or is it wack?

I think it's good overall, some wack about non-Trinity subjects. I don't know why it's in a university newspaper

I think the website is brilliant.

The only problem is the content isn't up-to-date!!! Hence a 6/10 instead of 10/10.

Waay too much non-College wankology and SU tripe. Can more research goings-on be included? For example: every couple of weeks somewhere in College a research group gets a high impact publication that rarely gets mentioned outside of the group.

I can honnestly say, if there was one Newspaper Published By the College or By the college students i was use to take a shit with,

Trinity News would be that paper.

    Thats how wack it is.

If Cameron Coen had gone on page 3, she would have been elected with a landslide...

The latest edition of Trinity News is whack, most definitely.

    <snip>

How can something as poorly written/researched as this be published?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 114 ✭✭scruttocks

I work on TN as a copy editor who, had i not been preparing for schols, would have been checking that article before publication. Most likely it went in in the state the writer sent it. The "seen" irritated me hugely, and <snip>. I'll be back for Issue 10 and a return to normal service, don't you worry.

Oopsies, sorry. Now my post looks fairly ridiculous! Surely, you could have left in the bit about the spelling error? Trinity news are not the only poor editors it seems :P
