I abhor needless illumination. Isn't this why we invented light switces? I bet everyone on here thinks the same. It's surely a small yet potent sign of 'hew yar'. Do you turn off?

I hate natural light when I'm indoors so the curtains stay closed and the light is switched on.

What the hell happens if you have one device on and another off and you clap? If one is a light thats on and the other is an electric heater thats off and you clap as you leave the house for a long weekend away you'd be mightily pissed off when you get back to either a) a very big bill or b) a pile of ashes.

Feck that, what if you had parkinsons and epilepsy. That'll end in tears.

Turning lights off for economic as opposed to romantic reasons is a sure sign of middle-age.

    Noooooo - 25 is the new middle-aged?

I don't pay the esb and i still turn off all the lights and for extra credit i always turn off the standby - saving the polar bears single-handed.

I dont leave lights on, hate it. I use candles in the living room, and in the bedroom. Something about them, very seductive.

In the Good Olde Days we would fill a kettle halfway to the top, let the water run whilst brushing our teeth, put just one slice of bread into a 2-slot toaster and use a big frying pan even if we were only cooking one or two sausages.

Then we would often drive to the local shop in whatever fecking car we had decided to buy, get a free plastic bag to put our groceries in, come home to a house as warm as we wanted, throw plastic bag in the bin when done with it, throw the rubbish out without having to file it away first then relax by turning on all of our electrical equipment like the TV, the radio, dishwasher etc. and then leaving the room with them all still on just for the hell of it!!

It was a golden age of doing whatever the feck you liked, without being constantly told that we were making Mother Nature cry.

don't forget leaving your 7 litre merc idle over night so it would be nice'n'warm in the morning :) those were the days!

Yes and I even turn them off in other peoples houses when I'm visiting. A friend of mine has all the lights on in her house 24 hours. I go around her house and turn them all off, drives me nuts!

I hate when people turn the lights off for the tv/film at home. it makes my eyes go all funny. wrecks my head...

I, like most people, do not leave my lights on 24/7...

Candlelight rocks though. I've had too many candle calamities though. It's best that i'm not allowed use them.:D
