Hi just wondering if I can receive Five us and Fiver on my sky box?
I can get the regular five on other channels and its decent enough, especially for the uefa cup football
Just want to know if i can tune in the other fives the same way?

FiveUSA and Fiver are only available via a UK FTV card not able to tune them manually on skybox the way Five can

These channel will remain encrypted as long as they are not on Astra 2d. If/when space becomes available on 2d (and they are moved) then they can become free-to-air.

Astra 2d has a tight footprint over the UK only. Receiving channels from 2d in Europe is difficult and expensive (except close to UK). It requires a sensitive receiver and large dish (2m in south of Spain)

I've been able to get Five, Fiver, etc on my FTA card up to a week or so ago. They are now switched off. Still get the itv's and channel 4 but no Five. Anybody know why is this?

You have a FTV card in a Sky box, yes? Are you getting Sky 3 too still?
Then there's no reason you should have lost them, leave it on overnight on channel 998 and unless there is a problem with the card they should be re-activated again in the morning.

If your not using it in an skybox it has missed the regular keep alive signal..i suggest to put it in one overnight and all should be well.

If you are using it in a skybox might i suggest leaving it on sky news 501 over night still powered on as that may have caused you to miss the keep alive signal if you power it off for the night.

Hope i helped(even if its a small bit)

He obviously means a FTV card, c'mon how often is the terminology confused around here?

Thank guys for the suggestions, will leave it in overnight.

It's an english fta card i got years ago. I uses it now and again, not very often so it is true i lost this update. Also it's a b1tch when I use it anyway because when I put my irish sub card into the box after I use it I have great difficulty trying to get the Irish channels back!
