Doesn't really require any posts, just an answer to the poll will do fine.

    Thanks.

Typical. Car salesmen leaving out the most important part. Pfft.

Takes a minute after the thread shows up.

My answer: Yes, from a seat dealer (Bill Sheehan & Son) in Rathgar, buying a second hand car.

In fairness, I think you've got a non-biased poll there. No leading people into voting one way or the other the way you've described the choices. Should give a decent enough response.

Lol, it's perfectly even at the moment. 4,4,2,2.

I'm in the good camp too. Again a SEAT dealer (Quinn Motors - Castlecomer)

Got 2 services done in the past year there. Both times I was told what needed doing before they started, and they were cheap enough too. He also gave me a car to pop down the town in November (it was raining) when the service was going on cos I'd be bored sitting in the showroom waiting. I thought very decent of him.

As a footnote, I bought my car new from him in 2007 so I assume he made an effort to keep me happy. Word of mouth is gold in this business and I'm only too happy to share my good experiences. I was alerted to him when I was looking for a car 2 years ago, and word of mouth from satisfied customers made me more relaxed about buying. If that makes sense

I bought a seat from Harvey Norman last week. Great service, and it really comfortable too..:pac:

The only one bad experience i've had, was before i started in the trade, trying to get an oil leak solved. Nightmare that was.

One absolutely fantastic experience pre celtic tiger from Joe Duffy BMW, Glasnevin, before they moved and built their glass and marble palace and jacked up their prices and dropped their standards.

Another very good Experience in Maxwell motors about 3 years ago.

Every other car sales experience I've had over the last 10 years has been disgraceful, be it either browsing or making genuine enquiries I haven't been in a BMW/Audi or Merc dealer that I would recommend to a friend.

Got Ignored in Brady's Audi castleknock about 3 months ago.

Wanted to take a new TT for a test drive, pulled up in a M3, wandered around the showroom for close to 10 mins, wasn't going to disturb anyone, I purposefully waited to see if I would be approached by anyone, despite the showroom being empty except for me and loads of sales people, no one approached me so I left.

Good experience when buying parts from a local main dealer, went out of his way to help.

Bought a car with a repair job done on the side-wall on one of the tyres.

You can say I did not pay enough attention when buying, but surely the dealer must notice that when they "paint" the tyre.

The dealer certainly did not show the basic professional integrity they should. I think a dealer like that, I know what's the answer I could get if I bring that tyre back.
