I just seen this announced on sky sports news, bit off a shock to me.

    Is it to anyone else?

Odd. What is with this new trend of appointing managers with no relevant experience to top flight teams?

Edit: Wow, didn't take long for his WIKI page to be updated!

+1. A disturbing trend. Its a totally different thing, Don't get it at all. Earn your stripes managing and coaching in the lower leagues, acquire your trade and then, maybe, just maybe make the leap to the big time...I mean would you put Michael Schumacher in charge of the Ferrari F1 team...no way. A fantastic driver, but as to the day-to-day nuts and bolts of running a racing team, fuggedabbouudit!

Exactly. Look at Kidney, he has gone through nearly every level of coaching and now he is the national coach. That is how it should be!

Id say as new Director of Rugby Kingsley Jones will probably be making all the calls next season even though Robinson has been named head coach.

Its a trend that you can be guaranteed will die out fairly quickly if results start dropping.
