Advice on new chainset/chainrings

Replaced the cassette and chain on the commuter at the weekend and now the chain is skipping in middle and large chainring. Need to replace these but not sure what is compatible.

The bike is Specialized Sirrus 2007 model with a Sugino XD 5 arm crankset and 28/38/48 chainrings. BCD is 110mm. Chain is HG50 6/7/8 speed compatible, and rear cassette is 8 speed Sora. Front derailleur is marked as Nexave, but the spec on the spesh website refers to it as "Shimano T301".

So firstly, anyone know if the rings on that crankset be replaced - need to take a closer look at it but presume if it's got bolts the yes, but rivets means no?

In terms of chainsets, would prefer not to go for smaller rings, MTB style, rings so looking for same size or larger. The following has largest ring of 52 - is that too big a jump from 48 for the derailleur?

Any other suggestions? Should I just bring it to an LBS and let them sort it?

    Thanks in advance.
