After nearly a year the infamous Mixed Salad events return to Dublin on a much more intimate note this St Patricks weekend. Previously taking over 2 floors, 3 rooms and the Beer Garden at McGruders, Thomas St every bank holiday Sunday, Mixed Salad was also famous for its annual St Patricks Day bash that seen out of control numbers of more than 1200 people and monster sell out shows each year with an atmosphere and reputation unmatched for it’s friendly daytime party vibe.

This year’s St Patricks weekend special will see the much welcomed return of the event in a smaller and far more intimate venue, The Legal Eagle (beside the four courts). Once home to the popular 12Ten nights, and other one offs such as the original and very memorable Halloween Monster Mash up more than 3 years ago, its a venue with great nostalgic value and should provide a great setting for this now double oldskool event! Still over two floors but with a reduced capacity of a mere 300 the Mixed Salad St Patricks weekend Special will take place on Saturday March 14th . due to the bank holiday taking place this year on a Tuesday for some strange reason! Traditionally taking place on the Sunday we know it’s a little out of character but after much deliberation we decided it was the best move all round as we can still host an after party plus it gives us all a day to recover before the dreaded in between day of work on the Monday!

So what’s the plan then? Doors will open at 1pm as usual and music will go until 11 or 12 that night, we will have 2 floors of music featuring most of the Mixed Salad favourites. We will be installing a Funktion 1 sound system for the downstairs club room with music policy here being on the tougher side of things, expect all the usual treats form house to techno, electro and even some oldskool from some of Dublin’s finest. Upstairs will be the Bangers and Mash Up room and like Ronseal will do exactly what is says on the tin, the room will feature a mixture of DJs playing across the board party tunes all day and night!

As mentioned above, capacity is limited to only 300 at max so if previous parties are anything to go by, it’s sure to sell out pretty quickly and probably pretty early! Admission for the day is a mere 15e and will include complementary food in the afternoon to keep you going! Tickets will be available from RUBBERBAND at WAX from Saturday between 10 and 12 or you can also pay at the door on the day providing tickets don’t sell out before hand!
