i was pricing around yesterday for a new key
stg 115 + vat - donnellys of dungannon
eur 196 + vat - dublin main dealer

last year i was quoted "about 260 + vat" plus an hours labour to programme it
by caseys in athlone after the parts guy there said my blinking but not working key was knackered based on looking at it.

as the keys come from landrover already matched to a specific ecu, it turns out that the actual programming involves holding the unlock button down, sticking the key into the drivers door and turning it to the left for 5 seconds.
its no wonder they are no longer landrover dealers.

in fairness to the other 2 garages, both said, i could synch it myself so all it would cost is the price of the key.
