I'm actually stunned that people still do Lent, tbh. Am I the only one who gave up Lent for Lent when they were like 15 and haven't gone back on it since?!

Haven't given up anything in the last 3 or 4 years.

Do remember when I was younger though trying to give up bacon for lent. I went through a phase of absolutely hating bacon (my mam was probably cooking it at least twice a week for dinner). Anyway my mam wasn't having any of it so no doubt she made me give up sweets or some such thing. Love bacon now though!

i have never actually done a lent!! but always feel that it would be a good excuse to give up something bad or take up something new....not necessarily just for the 40 days...sort of a kick start really!!

yeah think i suggested giving up meat when i was very young (to trick my dad into letting me be a veggie as he said i had to wait til i had grown a bit) but i didn't get away with it! i'm a veggie now though!!

kept doing lent for years after i'd stopped identifying with most religions and stuff... just used it as a time to challenge myself.

this lent, im giving up buying alcohol. this masterplan counts entirely on someone buying me booze for my birthday. but still, no more spending money on booze till easter.

That is what i mean alright.....as i am in no way religious.

I can never think of a suitable one.......

Atheist. I've had pork at every meal today except breakfast. :)
I could never give stuff up for 40 days when I was younger, I was always the one who'd break after a week. Haven't even tried giving up anything for Lent since I was about 11 or 12.
