    THE conditions facing Australian lawyers might be tough but they look pretty rosy compared with Ireland. As a result, scores of Irish lawyers are hoping to land a job here.

    The once booming Irish economy has been hit particularly hard by the global economic crisis and lawyers there have seen rounds of redundancies, graduate intakes slashed and deep pay cuts. Since late last year, Australia's leading legal recruiters have been inundated with applications from Irish lawyers, as well as Australian-trained lawyers currently working in Dublin, from across all practice areas looking for work here.
