    According to Wrestlezone:

    http://www.wrestlezone.com/article/breaking-news-wrestlemania-26-location-announced-59212
PWInsider.com is reporting that the location for Wrestlemania 26 has been made official, and it is indeed the highly rumored Unversity of Phoenix Stadium which can hold a typical Wrestlemania capacity of around 70,000.

WWE will be holding a press conference tomorrow at 12:30pm PST to make the announcement and to discuss further details.

Phoenix? outdoors? in that ridiculous heat? If they can play football there I suppose!

Is it me or those that look a bit small for Wrestlemania? Usually they have a big ramp going to the ring(apart from WM20 which was in MSG) and then the massive entrance

it looks built for Wrestlemania to me, yes the crowd will be close to the ring but that will just add to the atmosphere, plus from the looks of things they can decide if they want it outdoor or more likely indoor.

there is a roof and it won't be stupidly hot in phoenix in march anyway, june or july you can fry eggs but march is lovely there

nah they will build a huge stage there in the redzone :) its a massive stadium, dwarfs msg, all-state in chicago and staples in la where WM20, 21 and 22 were held, those would ALL fit inside that stadium

this news is expected, most knew WM26 was going to be in phoenix prior to WM25 location being announced (wayne gretsky gave it away) and its only 25 minutes flight from vegas :D

Thats one thing that looks quite good about it, its not that miles and miles of just sprawled out ground seats.

A pic of a set up:

Looks, from that angle, like you could get a lengthy ramp in there.

I dunno if this will work:

    http://www.aerlingus.com/cgi-bin/obel01im1/bookonline/flightInputLookupDispatchAction.do?BV_SessionID=@@@@0781634187.1235559614@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdcadegiiieimfcefecfigdffgdfkh.0

Basically the rough price of a round trip to phoenix (which is very close to the stadium and obviously where the hotels will be) would be about €630.

    which isnt too bad...

Delta have flights to Phoenix via New York/Atlanta for about €450 return. If its around the same price for next year, I might just go!

    Wheres the problem in that?

You don't have to post in a thread if you don't like it...

Yeah but this isn't a social networking site. Take it to IM next year please.

Edit: Like have some consideration for Orestes and Vince. This is the worst kind of thread to mod because they have absolutely no interest, there's absolutely no need for this discussion to be on Boards and it's really really long

  • Subscribers Posts: 2,163 ✭✭✭Brolly

Hold on...whats there to mod??? The WM25 Packages thread is probably the only thread that hasn't had stupid arguments and insults flying on it! If you ever actually paid any attention to the thread, you would see that it is much more than just a few people sharing plans for Mania - there were quite a few people who have used the thread over the past months for info on how/where to get the packages, flights, hotels etc. Neither mod has said that there is anything wrong with a thread for that reason so far...so I don't see the probem.

I have a confession to make... I never looked at the WM 25 thread when I was a mod :pac: Except when there were some reported posts, which there were

By the sounds of it Phoenix will be going all out to help WWE. They've been looking to get this show for a long time and it'll probably be one of the more fan-friendly weeks for people going

Not trying to stick my oar in but who cares if the mods have no interest in a thread? thats not what they're here for, and brolly is right, the travel package thread is an easy read because it doesnt degenerate into petty arguments like most of the wrestling threads on here, plus its full of useful info for people who are travelling over for the first time and arent sure about stuff

I found the packages thread extremely helpful when booking my trip. I don't think you can speak for the mods bubs101 as I'm sure if they had a problem with it they would have no problem in locking the thread.
