    Hello all,

I am due to sit my theory test early next week and am pretty confident of passing it.:)

I have a voucher for 6 driving lessons from christmas and am very eager to start them.

Would I be able to start the lessons when/if;) I pass my test or do I have to wait until my learners permit accually arrives??

    Thanks,

You'll need your license/learners permit first. Shouldn't take long to get.

At least thats how it was in my day

    I was expecting that answer:(:(

I believe it takes about 2 weeks to arrive.
I wish it could be processed on the day.

Assuming you pass the theory test, bring the cert and application form, eye test report and payment to your local motor tax office rather than post it, you might get the licence quicker.
    Best of luck

Good to see your enthused. I think if people are interesting and eager to learn to drive, they come out the best for it.

Next you'll be needing insurance so you can learn in a car you'll do the test in!

    Best of luck

I plan to get insured as a named driver on my mams car. It a Golf plus 1.4 petrol. I have driven it quite a few times when going to work ( very early in morning and roads quiet) and like the feel of it. According to my mam the pedals are quite sensitive compared to other cars but i have gotten used to them now.;)

Thanks donegalfella, i just didn't want to turn up in the motor tax office and be told that I need a form from the RSA or something.
