    Hi

I was living for 17 years with a partner (never married) last year I moved out, and she sold my property (tractor, trailer, etc). I reported this to Gardai and they interwieved her and she told them "I sold this because he owns me money, and I didn't know it was illegal". Garda said it is not a criminal matter.

can someone explain to me how it is not illegal?
What steps can I take to make Garda treat it as a theft?

Not to be construed as legal advice, but this is a pretty common occurance and the option is open to you to recover the money due to you (if any) through the courts. The gardaí are not needed. Ultimately I assume you want the value of your property rather than your ex having a record.

your ex must have signed some documents log book or whatever for the tractor, signing somebody elses name IS FRAUD, they don't want to be involved in a domestic.. get a solicitor..

    thx

I honestly want my property back, that's all I want. But at this stage I will do anything that will help me to recover it or money.

Also I can's understand how is it not a criminal offence. she has admitted to selling my stuff. Tractor has a lodge book and I am the owner.

yeah, I did that as well, as I was adviced to report it to Garda anyways. So I did. Garda in town where I currently live took it seriously, however it's not their district so the issue was redirected to her town. Tractor is in files as stolen.

why didn't you take your belongings with you anyway.. if it wasn't worth very much i'd let it go.. prob more trouble than its worth..

I dont want to get into personal details too much...

My tractor is vintage and it's market value is high, and I like this tractor.
