My dentist has recommended I use Corsodyl Daily Defense Mouthwash, because the standard Corsodyl can stain teeth with over 2 weeks of use.

However, it seems a little awkward to find - she warned me of this.

Does anyone know where if can be found in Dublin? (preferably south side)

Is there a Boots store in the Dublin area? You should have no problem finding it there .

There used to be one in the Square. If its still there its just opposite the Holland and Barret shop on Level 2, which I need to visit soon also.

    Thanks.

Any other suggestions incase they don't have it?

Most chemists have it. Watch out though it can stain your teeth.

Woah....handbags at the ready :pac:. Sorry for the reply, I will try to be more thorough next time so as not to offend.

    Get it online here http://www.chemistdirect.co.uk/corsodyl-daily-defence_1_10179.html

Or try Eludril, it stains less IMHO.

Yep, I saw that when I googled it, just thought I might find it in the shops here as the shipping cost on small, low value items like that usually negates the benefit of buying online - unless you're buying many bottles.

How come it's not available on the Medical Card ? It's only available in Pharmacies and dentists prescribe it as part of treatment.

    It's Six bloody euros!
FWIW it's £3.50 in the UK

Which one? The regular one is available in Superquinn anyway!

Is it ? Well, it's hardly a "normal" mouthwash. If it's just a bog standard normal mouthwash why is it 6Euros
I was under the assumption that it's medication rather than just some mouthwash

I'll be surprised if they do. Hiltons checked for me and aparently Glaxo Smyth Klyne dont bring it into the Republic of Ireland at all.

    Online we go so...

I had my wisdom teeth out on Monday and have to use this for 5 days. My Mum popped out to get my antibiotics etc. while I was under sedation and she had no problem picking this up in the chemist two minutes from the surgery. I don't think it's especially hard to come by.

Beechwood Dental near luas stop has it also. Seen it displayed on Monday

Are you sure what you got is Cordosyl "Daily Defense" not just regular Cordosyl - I've tried 5 chemists and none have it - my above post explains why - the producer/wholesalers don't sell it into the Republic of Ireland.

With the standard Corsodyl, OP mentioned staining? I havent heard this before, read it can be used to prevent/reduce incidence of gingivitis, but how bad is this staining? Does it happen with all people or only a possible side effect? Does it outweigh the benefits?

On my second bottle of this stuff and it has turned my teeth brown. Dark, dark brown. I look like a 100 a day smoker. Back to Listerine id say.

Corsodyl Daily Defense should start appearing in most supermarkets this month (as in supervalu, tesco, eurospar etc) If they dont have it, ask, and they prob will the following week. Its a relatively new product which is gentle enough to use daily, unlike regular corsodyl, which is quite strong, and as someone pointed out, only usable for two weeks.

And as i understand it, corsodyl addresses gum disease, something which listerine is not specifically tailored for. Im not a dentist though, so id listen to them :P

Excellent for Gingivitis; I had bleeding gums & sorted it when I stated using this stuff.

Like others I found it VERY hard to source but I know 100% that SuperDrug in the Square Tallaght sell this as I've bought 4-5 bottles there :D

It's a nice fresh tasting product unlike it's bigger sister, original Corsodyl, which is vile

    :D
