Sky Charges

I phoned sky today about multi room. As an existing customer who has been very happy with the service, I was a more than a little disappointed to be told that I would have to pay twice as much as a new customer for the same service. When asked why? Sky told me that I when I joined I received a special offer. Neither of which I or the operator could remember. Then I was told that I got free equipment. New subscribers still get the equipment free don’t they, I responded.
No come back on that point.

Then I asked why new subscribers get Sky plus for half of what I would have to pay. Again I got no real answer. Could I buy a box and install it myself and save 99 euro. No.

Im so annoyed that Im thinking and heading back to NTL.

Why screw the loyal customers in favour of a new one?

I heartily agree - I had to threaten to cancel before I got Sky Plus at the new customer price. Eircom are even worse for that kind of baloney. I fully understand the reasons they do these deals but they are very disheartening for loyal longstanding customers.

However, nothin would send me back to the dreaded NTL.......

Agree 110% - one of many highly irritiating and frustrating aspects of being a 'loyal' Sky customer ... but there's no alternative ... so I'm stuck with them ... for now ... their latest charge - on payment by credit/debit cards has really gotten under the skin though - and as for their "justification" for it!! ... competition badly needed but probably further away than ever now!

Ring, threaten to cancel (you have to hold on until you get put through to the cancellations department) then you'll be treated as nice as pie and when you tell them the reason you're leaving you'll be offered it in a jiffy:)
