Making sense of car hire bill

    (Feel free to move)

I have to put in expenses today for a business trip I took that involved car hire and I'm confused by the bill. Can anyone who's recently hired a car from Hertz (or similar) explain it to me. I don't have access to my c/c online so I don't know how much I was charged overall, but I was under the impression that I'd paid a deposit when I booked online and then paid the rest when I returned the car:
    Sub Total: x.xx GBP
    Voucher credits: y.yy GBP
    Rental Transaction Amt: z.zz GBP
    (this is x.xx less y.yy)
    Exch Rate 1.18
    Transaction Currency: e.ee EUR
(this is z.zz multiplied by 1.18)
    AMOUNT DUE: z.zz GBP

So can you tell from looking at this what I've been actually charged, this Voucher Credits thing is throwing me off, it mentions a PPV no but I can't find what this means on the Hertz site - is that perchance the deposit I paid online and should I be multiplying the Sub Total by 1.18 to get the actual total total I paid?

    Possibly pre payment voucher ?
the amount due is what you owe.
    Ring them up

Wouldn't that imply that I pre-paid it online?

    Yes, but that makes sense.

    Sub Total: x.xx GBP
    Voucher credits: y.yy GBP
Rental Transaction Amt: z.zz GBP - THIS AMT IS SUB TOTAL LESS VOUCHER - (this is x.xx less y.yy)

Wow - its was cheap, only z.zz GBP in total, I must remember to use Hertz in the future.

Do you have the rate code? If you post that (WVR1GB or similar) and I rack my brains hard enough I should be able to tell you whether it was pre-paid or not.

Not dure what the voucher credits are, never really saw the bills - just the reservations.

    ***EDIT***

PPV is Pre Paid Voucher. Must have been pre-paid.

Did you add additional driver or equipment, or return without a full tank? Pre-paid should include all you need, unless you fell for the additional insurance.

I don't see anything like that on the receipt or rental record

There were some additional charges, but nowhere near the 'extra' amount (z.zz in my op)

Give customer service a call and get them to breal down what the charges are for.
