Orange France ordered to open sports channel to rivals Tuesday 24 February 2009 | 09:39 AM CET

The Paris Commercial Court has ordered Orange France to open its up Orange Sport TV channel to competitors within one month of 23 February, reports Les Echos. According to the ruling, Orange must propose a wholesale offer to all TV distributors such as ISPs and Canal Satellite, or be fined EUR 50,000 per day. The case was brought by ISPs Free and SFR. The court found Orange guilty of unfair competition because the channel is only available to its ADSL internet subscribers, allowing it to win customers from its competitors. SFR told AFP that Orange was found guilty of "tied sales", or bundling several products that can not be bought separately. SFR said it was ready to offer Orange Sport as soon as possible on its network. France Telecom said that it would study the ruling and decide on its next move, without excluding any options.

What's the highest per day that Comreg has threatened to fine?

How much have they fined, ever?

I don't think Comreg have actually issued a fine once in their entire existence. They've threatened a few times, but I don't know of a single instance when they've actually gone as far as fining anyone.
