    I look out across the green,
    On to the empty plain,
    Through the trees,
    And to the grey sky.

    People speckle the view,
    They walk without care;
    Absorbed in their own thoughts.

    I rest my head
    Against the pane of glass,
    Cushioned by my arm:
    I close my eyes and wince - hard.

    Time elapses.
    Moments move to minutes.

    I force my eyes open.
    The world fills me up once more.

    Everything is out of focus but remains unchanged.
