Anybody know if a normal Belkin or Netgear modem/router willl work on Magnet fibre?

If its a modem/router then it sounds like it is mean for dsl bb ie the Eircom type.

Sounds like you need what is known as a cable router that is one without a built in modem. Ask Magnet which model they recommend and that should tell you which type you need.
