My car has broken down while in warranty. Am i entitled to a replacement car while its being repaired and out of action?

You'll have to ask FIAT, but i'd say yes.

Warranty usually refers to the car, that it will be fixed for free.
Sometimes the dealer will supply a loaner, but this is stated in the warranty.

Ring the dealer/check your warranty papers.

Depends on the terms and conditions of the warranty you got.

Is it manufacturer warranty or used car warranty?

Thanks. I will ask Fiat. Given that its the 6th time its been fu@ked in less than 3 years I think that I need a break! A legal eagle friend suggested that if the garage refuse to hire one, that I should hire one anyway and bill Fiat and take it to the small claims court if they don't pay, What do ye think?

Plenty of used stock on most forecourts these days so I don't see why a loaner should be a problem unless they've been sitting that long they're out of tax. Once your insurance is transferred then the dealer should be happy enough.

In fact most would sooner see the loaner totalled/stolen and have your insurance pay up :D

I think FIAT will give you one. Especially when they hear about the steering locking up - if that can be proved it'll frighten the sh1t out of them.

If the car is still covered under Manufacturers warranty then you may get a car. The likes of Ford Assist, or Audi Assist will cover the first two days of a replacement car, and after that they will look at it on an individual basis.
