Ebookers Issues/hell!

    Can anyone help me, back in october i booked flights to new york for myself and my boyfriend for 12th to 19th march but in january my boyfriend broke his ankle and so we had to reconsider our plans as he would still have pins in his ankle and isn't allowed put any pressure on it!

    So he made a call to Ebookers to enquire about moving the flights and was told €290 but unknownst to us they went and changed the flights and charged it to my laser card without my permission we took this issue up with them and i thought they said it would be given back to us but since rang to see when they'd be crediting my account and they said they weren't that the flights had been changed and i wouldn't get my money back even though it was only an enquiry my boyfriend had made and didn't know they kept my card details on file to take money whenever they felt like it! Has anyone had any similar problems and how did you deal with it? I'm sick of talking to them and them over complicating things!

    Do people actually book via ebookers?

    I just use it to find out who flys where then manually go to the airlines site and book - no middle man stylee.

    Sorry no advise just pointless obversation...

    Ya thats what i'd usually do but it worked out cheaper this way for once and regret doing it so much!!

    Ask them for the recording of the conversation they had with your boyfriend (or get him to ask for it) under the data protection acts, then ask how an 'instruction' in their view could be given by a male to start a charge to a female's laser card? Then mention the small claims court and the financial regulator. Then ask what procedures they have in place for amending bookings and how that can be done without the cardholders permission.
