    Hello All

I'm a bit new to this.
    First day actually!!

I'm looking for some opinions and experiences that anyone has had with GSOC and are willing to share.

Anyone ever been offered or gone for mediation following the receipt of a compliant ?

Is it a realistic option ?

What are the consequences of accepting mediation ?

Is a full investigation a better option ?

    Any advice or opinion welcome

    Thanks
    CCMT

    Your html is showing :p

As regards gsoc and advice, would you not be better suited speaking to your local rep, rather than seeking counsel on a public forum?

Without knowing the ins and outs of a matter, it's impossible to even offer an opinion.

I would say it's innapropriate to discuss this here. Try www.gardareview.ie.

Better still, talk to your rep.

I think GSOC, as with any form of complaint.... if you were proffessional, and were in the right... there's no problem, bring it on!!

I've been through it a few times with them, and in the old days the Garda Complaints board. All minor matters, where mainly serious criminals had put in complaints, to "muddy the waters" so to speak. I've never had any problems with them. They have a tough job to do, and they are learning as they go, just like we have to.

Obviously seek advice depending on your situation.

In general I always assume that whatever I'm doing is being watched/cctv/cameraphones etc. and with that in mind, be proffessional at all times. Dont give any criminal an excuse to get away with it because you take it personally/use bad language/ etc.
Use the appropriate force for the situation, and use your paperwork. Tell it like it is.

    OP

Im sorry but Im not going to allow this thread continue any further due to the possibility of sensitive or personal information being inadvertently exposed.

There is already an information thread on GSOC here if that interests you and feel free to post questions there. I will ask you though not request information that you sought on this thread. Not on this forum anyway.
