I saw a proper crepe/pancake pan at Lidl yesterday including the wooden bit for spreading it for €8.99. I have a smaller version of it and it makes a big difference in the results.

Prestige actually make a lovely crepe pan, this is just a fry pan, but most of us I'm sure were reared on pancakes made in the frying pan!

Those little roller things are cool, I've been looking out for one for awhile.

I think you can still get a smallish one for €7.75 from M&S's Outstanding Value range, but I am happy to put my hands up if I'm wrong

Great price for Prestige, and 24cm is a decent size, thanks. :)

picked up a couple in the Ilac at lunch. They had a good few dozen stacked against a wall behind the till. Didn't even have to wait like usual.

You know, all my years growing up eating crepes (only had pancakes at friends' houses) my mother never had either a little wooden roller nor one of these fancy electric crepe pans.

If the batter is properly made, you can turn it around in the pan to spread it. The only reason those rollers are made is for the fancy electric things, which aren't necessary in the home - though they are good for mobile crepe stands and restaurants that specialize in crepes because turning a heavy pan around for hours every day is enough to give your wrists a beating.
