Bumper protectors

I've got an old (99) SAAB with body coloured bumpers - which means that they're covered with little scrapes and bits of chipped paint and don't look great. I could get them resprayed and re-start the whole process, but I was wondering if there's anywhere you can get some kind of bumper protectors fitted? Personally I miss the good old days of bumpers being black plastic/rubber... Any advice appreciated. Failing that, anyone recommend a good cheap place for a re-spray?

You could always get one of these discrete items..

Adhesive protectors should be available at Halfrauds.

Painted bumpers are one of my pet hates, what a stupid idea in an urban environment. But punters like the look of them despite them not being 'fit for purpose', and don't get me started on big wheels!

So you could go around rubbing off everyone elses bumpers, doors, wings? I dont get this. Its poor driving to mark the car corners. Do people who mark their bumpers just take a quess when parking?
Why fit cars with big rubber bumpers that allow you to damage everything round you without damaging your own car.
Its not a minute too soon that most cars now have painted bumpers withour rubbing strips.

My advice would be to get the bumper repaired and then perhaps a driving lesson seeing as you believe the damage is bound to happen all over again.

They're bumpers. What's next, painted tyres?

And lets do away with airbags, feckin bad drivers crashing into things. Mick, have you noticed that cars are driven by humans, and we are flawed beings?
