Wht are peoples opinions on the toyota iQ?
Was having a look today and i think they are a fab idea for someone who dosnt need back seats.
They are so well made and i love the simplicity of the interior.
Some people might think they are a biy pricey but everything is relative.
My choice would be one in white.

plenty of better cars with two seats...... mx5 to name a very fun car
its very similar to a smart, so being done already,
it isn't very efficient either as they make out, a few small 4 seater diesels are around the same,...

its a small car, nothing new or exciting...

I think they look great, a huge improvement on the Aygo and they're much better looking than a Smart. I saw one last week on Dame St. (Nordie reg). How much is the basic 3cyl from an Irish dealer?

    I'd love the 1.4 d4d.

    Hmmmmm,
I think your missing the point, however give me a few examples of "better cars with two seats"
The mx5 isnt one as its a completly different animal. (i have one so i know)
Its similar to a smart in size.....but the comparison ends there.... i like Smarts but they arnt great to drive....gearbox etc.
I just thought this brings the micro car to a whole new level.

I don't buy into the whole micro-car thing. Something like the iQ lacks the versatility of the R4, 2CV or even the Mini (the original, not the hairdresser/metrosexualist's favorite).

Great car if you're based near the city centre and have access to another, more versatile car. But how is that eco-friendly (or even recession-friendly)? An Aygo/Polo-sized car, whilst not as cool occupies little more road space but is ifinitely more versatile.

Not saying it doesn't look good tho...haven't seen one in the flesh...

In fairness if the OP has an MX-5 you'd have to trust his taste for excellent motors...

Saw one on Kildare Street a few nights ago... not the nicest styling, a bit meh... too blocky, like a kid's toy. The ForTwo is nicer.

I've only seen black ones in the flesh, but the cousin has driven it and says it's "fvcking class". It's just "fun on wheels for someone who doesn't want a sports car"

The white is supposed to look cracking though and the 1.33l is supposed to be a cracking little engine. I mean if it's good enough to pull an Auris or Urban Cruiser, the iQ must be a little rocket with it. The only problem I see is that the D4-D is only available in Sol spec at over €20k, when you could have an Avensis II for €18k
