Anyone know where you could get a Garmin looked at / repaired?

Almost every time I hit a bump or series of bumps that the thing switches itself off!!

Maybe it's caused by the batteries shaking and loosing contact. Try to put some foam or a bit of a tissue underneath the batteries.

If it is within warranty send it back to Garmin. If out of warranty they do a fixed-fee repair, the 305 is around £57 and the 705 costs around £97. For this fee they basically replace the unit with a refurbished one.

I've had that problem for ages - it drives me nuts. Have you noticed too that it's far more likely to happen on a cold or damp day?

If it is within warranty, delete the dodgy maps then send it back to Garmin.

    Fixed that for you. :pac:
