    Either

1.Type text in microsoft paint or

2.change the colour of the background in microsoft word

    Are either possible?

    Yes!

Use the txt tool in paint

Use the background tool in Word

    For everything else..... Use

To type text in Paint, click on the "A" icon in the toolbar. This allows you to insert a resizeable text box on to the image, but the box will have a white background afaik.

I'm not sure about earlier versions but in Word 2007 if select Page Layout from the ribbon, around the centre of the screen is a Page Colour option. I'd assume there is a similar option in other versions.

    Edit: Foiled again!

You'll probably have to edit it in photoshop, (change the Hue)
Maybe a bit too advance for you.....

I presume you just made the symbol in paint with TXT in it?
Open it in paind and colour it the same yellow as the word doc
