    Hi,

Just want to ask if anyone who has done or is doin this course has any information that they would care to share. Is it very intensive, what are the average number of lecture hours etc, etc, etc. The closing date for applications is next week and as per usual I've left everything to the last minute so any speedy responses would be welcome!

I graduated from this course in November '08 - we were the second bunch of guinea pigs to go through it. Have heard they are changing the structure/setup of it, but I don't know how true this is, think it might just be changing some exams from MCQ to essay based.

It is pretty intense, yes, some people were very, very stressed out around this time last year - it was dissertation time and they also had us doing this assignment which was a bit of a mickey mouse exercise, so that was not really appreciated. Sometimes the dept can be a little unaware of how much we've going on and sometimes members of staff involved in the course are too low profile (in terms of interaction) to know what's going on. During the orientation day in first year (a week or so before we had started lectures) the course director asked me if I had started reading yet..don't know if that was just making conversation or a bit of a jolt to the system, but it was a bit...! It's not necessarily the hours that the problem, it's just that often we were running around like lunatics handing stuff in left, right and centre..plus all of the reading as you are doing 4 years in 2.

If you asked each of us individually you'd probably find few of us were in a hurry to sign up and do it again. Admittedly this post doesn't sound that optimistic, but I am glad I've done it.
