    Hi all

Hope this is in the right section sorry if it's not.
I've a question about veterinary nursing/medicine. I am a graduate from DIT in Geomatics, (this is to do with construction), I've been working nearly the last year doing this and i dont really like it so i want a change. I want to know if i do a veterinary nursing course can i go on to do veterinary medicine as i would not have the points to do veterinary medicine from the start. I've been in contact with DKIT and AIT and they haven't really given me an answer in relation to this and UCD have not got back to me. Hope someone can help. Has anyone done the veterinary nursing course in any of these colleges and gone on to do veterinary medicine.

    Regards

as far as I know you cant go from vet nursing to Vet medicine unless you have to a have at least a Phd to be allowed to apply for vet medicine, but ring ucd again or try emailing them

    hi fitz12

the vet nursing course in athone is an ordinary degree so as far as i no it would not be a high enough qualification to go on to de vet med. the new UCD course starting sept 09 is an honours degree and with it being in UCD u mite have a better chancec of getting into it from that. try ringing them and asking. talk to andrea dwane, she can be a pain (im in the course now and she is in charge at the min) but she should no!!

    good luck

pm me if u want any info:)
