engine light came on in car on friday.
brought it to garage,he changed spark plugs and said oil was overfull and he did diagnostics and stopped it misfiring.
    220 quid it cost.
i was coming down from work this morning and the light came on again.
bearing in mind only 2 days have passed am i entitled to get him to clear the message again for free because A: he didnt diagnose the problem correctly on friday and hence did the wrong work or
B: he did a **** job in the first place?

I'd ring him first anyway, let him know what the craic is. Unless there are further problems that require labour intensive work, I can't see it being a problem.

    Ring him first anyway.

Ring the garage, 2 mins will show if the same dtc has been triggered, Untill a misfire is sorted other possible problems can be hard to diagnose.
    what make/model/year/engine is your car??????

light on = dtc stored, Get them to plug in again and read codes, did you overfill it with oil again since friday??

light on again today( although car sounds/drives perfectly) could the code be erroneous.
