self employed and signing on, what do i need?

Sorry to say that my business is gone down the pan along with lots more out there. I'm now at the stage that I need some assistance weather it be job seekers allowance or be means tested for benifit, i don't know, but what do i need to take to the dole office to get going, ie wife's p60?, ID?, tax and vat clearance certs?
Any advice would be great,
