iTunes in a mess

More a message about the computer than the iPod, I suppose, but I'm just wondering what might be wrong with my iTunes - every now and again it's fine but usually the window it's in is black with a few of the features in unclear white but most of them invisible, as if it's bugged or something like that. It makes it impossible to use. I've tried downloading and installing iTunes again, but it's the same thing.
I'm not too computer-savvy (you may have guessed) but could anyone give me some advice? Much appreciated

Saw this with older versions iTunes on Vista. Minimising and restoring seemed to clear it in most cases.

It used to happen to me sometimes. Try startin itunes with list veiw if you are using Cover flow or grid veiw that used to clear it for me
