I've always been a fan of St. Ives exfoliants, and I'm just coming to the end of a tub of Lush Lemon and Lime scrub (I think that's the name).

I'm jus wondering if there are any really good exfoliants out there that other posters would recommend? I have normal skin and wouldn't be keen on paying ridiculous money.

    Thanks for any replies

L'oreal Exfotonic is really good and smells lovely! I haven't used it in a while so I'm not sure of the price.

Lush's Sweet Japanese Girl is quite good.

    + 1 for the l'oreal one. iirc it's about 8/9 euro.

Lie down on a beach near the low water mark

Thanks for the suggestions. I like fairly abrasive exfoliants as they really seem to keep my skin fairly blemish-free. If anyone has any more suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Boots No.7 Microdermabrasion exfoliator. It's normally in with all the Protect & Perfect stuff. It's €14 for a nice big tube and it's absolutely brilliant. You use it twice a week and it polishes your skin so well. I've noticed a huge difference in my complexion, particularly pore-size, since I started using it.

i use clinique exfoliating scrub (not the 7 day one) - itd be bout €20 though and i usually buy it off strawberrynet.com - it'd be an "abrasive" scrub.

Used to love the St.Ives apricot scrub but it has become very hard to find. (In Galway anyway) Has anyone seen it recently?

I will have to try out some of the alternatives above. I tried the Boots Botanics face scrub but I don't find it anywhere near as good.

Green Angel body scrub is really lovely too- its made from seaweed. salt and lots of lovely things like lavender and juniper oil-my skin feels unlike I've felt with any other scrub-and it smells gorgeous.. I'm a new convert...you can buy it in some markets and I think you can order online- it's made by a company in Ashbourne..you could google maybe to find it...it was a gift so I'm not sure about the price- its an Irish product too-I imagine it probably is a bit dear- but I'd really recommend it...

I find the L'oreal one quite abrasive. I gotta be careful when I use it on my delicate arms! :p

What I find better than any exfoliant creams are these things:

    Bath_Gloves__Nylon_Bath_Gloves.jpg

I use them in the shower to exfoliate my skin and they work wonders. They are called 'bath gloves'.

I use CLinique's 'Sparkle Skin' for exfoliator if I'm using a cream.

I use the L'Oreal one aswell (well, I'm pretty sure I do, it's in a greeny tub right?)
If it is the one, it's pretty abrasive and I love it. No idea what sort of price it is though...

    Yep.

The pharmacy in the Corrib Shopping Centre beside M&S, they do it 2 for the price of 1, so even better.

They sometimes don't have it but they get more in about once a month. I usually stock up when I get it.

Origins Never A Dull Moment for the face is wonderful and Clinique Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream for the body. Probably not cheap but both will last a good while as you'd only use once or twice a week at most.

I can't find this anywhere!! Tried Boots and Hickeys Pharmacy in town and no luck. Anyone know where you can get this in Dublin or is it discontinued??

Dermologica microexfoliant is pretty amazing but pretty expensive but it is amazing i think it actually removed some of my freckles, just made everything smooth and flawless for a while, just after buying a massive tub of it on strawberrynet

The Soap and Glory exfoliant is really good. I think it's called 'Leg descaler' (lol) or something, I use it all over, it's excellent and only around €7 too. It's quite abbrassive.

The body shop exfoliaters are also quite good but don't think they're worth the price.

If all else fails if you're looking for a really good all over scrub caster sugar or normal granulated sugar for hardcore scrubing mixed with olive oil is amazing.

I don't know about Galway, but they sell it in my local supermarkets at home, and Tesco have a special offer on it at the moment, 1/3 off I think.

I bought their cleanser the other day too. After getting over the slightly odd smell which reminded me of hairdye (yes, I know) I really like it. The "microbeads" are pretty good for a quick sloughing off of any dead skin, and my combination skin feels lovely - no dry patches, no greasy areas on my t-zone. It's just great.

I use 'The Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden, Hot Sugar Scrub'.

You can get it in larger Boots stores (it is manufactured by Boots so you can relax, it is good quality).

It costs about a tenner for large size glass jar. Excellent body scrub.

Should have mentioned that I was looking for a facial scrub when I started this thread. (Though all suggestions are welcome).

Oh best facial scrub is Origins Modern Friction. Nothing can beat it. ;) And Arnotts have 10% off cosmetics/beauty products at the moment. Good time to buy.

No7 Microdermabrasion Exfoliator is great, you can really feel the scrubby bits unlike most products!
