I cannot remember what program it was but there was something I saw where for some reason they were going on about cyclists shaving their legs. They said that it did absolutely nothing for any aerodynamics and was purely to do with any scrapes and that they they would get off the road being easier to treat without the hairy legs. If you don't intend to go sliding along the road though then there is no benefit to doing it, other than you mates get to take the piss out of you. ;)

It shows off your toned muscles more, so yes.

Also make sure your shorts are tight enough.

A guy I was in college with was a runner and used to shave his legs, I was a bit miffed when he told me he shaved them for running.

"Have you not seen all the men with shaved legs in races?"
    "errrrr...no" :pac:

just to let you know I am male.
So if you see a fat 16 stone fella ,with hairy legs doing the dualathon in Tramore on Saturday. Just give me a small bit of encouragment,
    Thanks

Shave one leg and not the other.

You know. To be individual :) Might throw other competitors off as well.

there was a good article on saving time in the 220 mag recently - does nothing for your aerodynamics, but signal of intention...

Seems shaving your legs is good for the mind...

I dont think aerodynamics comes into it in the slighest.
If I was worried about that I would try and loose another 2 stone before saturday,LOL.
I am only going to be racing myself ,I dont know if this a realistic time but I was hoping for 70 mins been a novice.Any better than that will be a bonus.

I'll be out at Tramore Saturday too, also only helping out too as I'm recovering from an injury and want to be ready for Connemara. Going mad I'm missing the duathlon tho.
I'd say no to shaving your legs for a duathlon, particularly in February. I believe, shaving leg hairs is really only of benefit to swimmers in terms of aerodynamics.
70 minutes would be a good time for a novice.
    Good luck!

Well done. There was plenty of wind out there. I would imagine the finishing stretch along the prom was a slog.
