    Hi,
need a little advice on how to fix a little problem wit my car. I want to mount my speakers in the position shown there but in doing so it leaves a huge gap along the door panel. Any body know a good fibreglass person? or someone who can do it cheap?
    [IMG][/img]Photo0267-1.jpg

Second thing: lowering. Again I need to know the legality behind this and where I can get it done on a shoe string but as legit as possible
    Thanks!

Is the car in the picture yours? you could just mount uprated speakers behind the grille and improve the sound deadening on the door.

It's not illegal to lower your car, but your insurance company should be informed.

succure sounds in cork used do all that sorta thing but hallfords put them outta business.it shouldn't cost a whole lot at times like these.lowering is perfectly legal.i would recomend looking on ebay for a set of coilovers or just lower springs but im not too sure if they will have a big selection for the santa fe.coilovers will cost more but are better for the ride performance.my own car is lowered and its like driving a stone.fitting springs or coilovers is fairly stright forward and the labour wont cost a lot.
hopw i have been some help.

does anyone know where i can get a carbon fiber sticker.im interested in covering my boot lid.the actual carbon fiber boot lid is way too expensive.so **** that and nobody tell me i can get it off egay.

    thanks folks

how come you stated in your other post about your civic that you didnt want any recommendations for ebay?

as recommended by colm above, dont go cutting your door cards to fit the speakers in, instead find out what size speakers are fitted in there as standard, then you can buy a set of uprated ones in the same size (brand and power output is up to you) and fit them in the standard existing holes and then refit your door cards.

you then have no cutting, no messing and a cleaner look.

i done this in my old EP3 civic Type R and it was much better than having the aftermarket speakers sticking out of the door cards as per you pic in the OP imo.

someone looks for advice, i try be as honest as possible! but i hear ya on the bad experience, my very first purchase on ebay i was scammed on a bloody nokia 8310.

just put it down to experience and sussed out the sellers better in the futute.
FYI, you do know that if the product you received was not what you ordered and the seller wont entertain you, you can go through paypal to get your money back?

may be something to look at if your within the time limits.

Just looking at the picture; Did you do that yourself to your car? Was there originally speakers in the doors? or the footwells?

If there was speakers originally in the doors, you should remove the whole panel and replace the stock speaker with aftermarket speaker of same size.

Let me know what was originally there, and where and what you want to achieve.

If there was door speakers there already, remove the panel replace with a speaker of similar size, and place grill that came with the speaker on the outside of the door to cover the hole you cut.

I think the speaker grille and the door card are the same piece of (cheap, nasty :D ) plastic, so it's not just a case of replaing the grille again :(

If its a hyundai accent model from 00 to 03 then its a new full door card he needs. What was the op thinking when he was cutting a big chunk out of his door:D

No no, I know that. I mean the speakers you got, did it come with a grill?

take off the whole door, replace the speaker behind the door. and glue on the grill that came with your new speaker to cover the hole you made.

Otherwise, as mentioned replace the door. Bit costy though

That wont work with this car because the door card where the speaker is isnt fully flat the top bit goes back so even if he did glue the cover on it wont fit right.

The exact problem I'm having is that. Other wise the speaker would sit flush.
I dont wanna hide my speakers (i paid a lil extra for looks) OEM was 13cm and i wnet with 17cm (again purely the aesthetics of them and the quality speakers. So as I said. I like em where they sit but i need to fix that big ol gap (door cards are getting coloured soon enough) so I dont mind if its messy.

As for the lowering This is because 15 in alloys will be going on the car and I dont need much just lowered a bit for looks and for handling (sh1t) handling as is. I wont buy the coils myself as suspension is something I know nothing of.
