Or at least a Tipp Senator thinks so

Senator Alan Kelly says the scheme will leave the county in the “technological dark ages”.

He is right, unlike this government hack
Minister of State Máire Hoctor has welcomed the announcement as “wonderful news for North Tipperary”.

The National Broadband Scheme will make broadband available to areas not covered by the existing service providers. At present 10 per cent of the population and 33 per cent of the area of the country are not covered. The NBS means that Ireland will have 100 per cent coverage by September 2010; half of the area under the scheme will be covered by the end of this year.”

Máire Hoctor is completely wrong in asserting that there will be 100% brodband coverage by end 2010 ( excepting satellite where we have 100% coverage today.

    That is a lie .

She may have been transmitting a lie from elsewhere but it is nevertheless a lie.
