    Gday

Just want peoples feedback opinion on the current Planet X Sl carbon bike, anyone got one, bought one, etc etc?
Did anyone get one delivered to Ireland? Looking at the front comp 50/34, is that a compact? was initially looking for a treble on the front, would this suffice?
Otherwise any other recommendations for about €1K

Its usually been discussed around boards that Planet X offer extremely good value for money .. though their customer service leaves a lot to be desired if you ever experience any trouble through the ordering, shipping, delivery process ... But I am assuming here that money is being spent on the bike and saved elsewhere ...

A compact should offer you the range of gears of the triple without showing up the 3 chainrings ... its considered somewhat non-Euro ... but if you think you are going to need the real low gears ... go for it .. but compact should be mostly what you need unless you are carrying heave loads.

I got one of the C15 offers back in October, build only completed recently, am planning on taking her out for a spin during the week, will let you know how I get on, as regards PLanet X themselves, I had a good experience apart from the fact it took 2 days for my order to be confirmed despite the fact that the money was taken immediately, was just about to make a phone call when I not only received confirmation, but a tracking number for my bike which was already halfway here and arrived next morning.

I built my Planet X over Christmas. Had to send the rear wheel back which was returned to me quickly, so I have no complaints regarding customer service. Just been on a 3 hour ride, it's a fabulous bike.

Are you intending a self build or to have it sent over ready for you? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OnmM9EjeiE shows how to prepare the completed build for riding

I ordered an SL Pro Carbon a few weeks ago as part of the Government bike scheme but for bureaucratic reasons it hasn't been paid for yet, so I haven't received it (which is painful because I know it's been built...) Will report back when I finally get a chance to test it.

As for customer support, I have found them (Andy, in particular) pretty responsive and helpful.

I probably had a worse customer experience with them than anyone else on here (search for the thread if interested) but I have to say the bike is fantastic and an absolute joy to ride and was fantastic value (think the transaction hit my credit card on the day of the most favourable exchange rate of all time!).
