Great to see him back in contention after all his injury and personal life woes
    Shot 65 yesterday.
    Legend.

Love watching his swing it's got great rhythm to it... so languid and effortless yet he can still boom it. Poetry in motion.

What "personal life woes" did he have, DS? Just asking. Never remember hearing of any.

    Great player.

The guy is just so good to watch.

Was really well known for his lobshot method.

His 1st wife killed her self shortly after divorcing Fred. She was apparently a bit of a fruitcake, and had publiaclly embarressed Fred on numerous occasions.

He had been in another topsy-turvy relationship for the past 7/8 years which came to an end recently.

According to an interview a few months ago, he's currently living on his own in Scotsdale Arizona. He's a naturaly shy and private man.

Couples has always been my favourite ever golfer - I'd be over the moon if he could pull it out of the bag this evening.

I agree, Freddie is a legend. Women and back problems have plagued him for years.

Hell, I'd marry him if he could teach me to swing like him. :pac:

His short putting is a pity, very Tom Watsonesque. He can hardly bring the putter head back.

I remember reading his first wife was quite an extrovert and publicly humiliated Couples at a Ryder Cup party back in the early 90's. She was a leading polo player in the US but it seems like their personalities didn't gel.

His second wife, Thais Baker died last Tuesday (Feb 22) from breast cancer. Divorce proceedings had been ongoing for the last three years. Must be why he's trying so hard this week.
