I got a parking fine on the 14/2 for parking my van too long in a loading bay, this is my first parking fine in 25 years of driving....i was completely un-aware of this 30min limit....is this a new thing and should there be a sign or something stating the limit.?...so anyway i went on to the payment site but it keeps telling me theres a problem and wont let me pay....if i dont pay in 28 days it will go up to 60euro...any thoughts.?....i'm tempted to ignore it..

There must be an address to send payment?

By ignoring it you run the risk of a summons.

Loading bays are there for loading and unloading, not commerical vehicle parking.

Perhaps a read of the Rules of the Road mightn't go astray.

Are there other means of paying, some / many fines can be paid in post offices.

The websites rarely work. Its up to the parking warden to upload the stuff onto the system - or so the excuse I was given a few times I got a ticket.

The address is usually on the back of the ticket or at least a phone number where you can ask to be put in touch with the department dealing with fines.

Thanks Sully, someone with a common sense answer for a change....;)..

Just an update , after various failed attempts at on-line paying i rang the office, and to no suprise i was told there was nothing on the system....my call was recorded and today i received a letter stating that my ticket had been cancelled as the result of an error....me thinks the attendant had secound-thoughts...or maybe got a bollicking from his mates....;)

I would sincerely doubt that, particularly as the Warden was only doing their job and correctly so at that! Far more likely that it is an oversight or a administrative error which you have luckily benefited from.

I'm not one to criticise unecessarily but for someone who has been driving for 25 years and seemingly drives for a living it is quite astonishing that you didn't realise the 30 minute rule regarding loading bays..

Oh and for future reference, there is a legal maxim which states: Ignorantia juris non excusat, which means that ignorance of the law is no excuse. So the onus is on you to know the law. Maybe a brief refresher in the rules of the road is in order in order to avoid any future problems?!
