Where do people get nice ones? Any I've seen are horrible and tacky.

Online tbh. I got my own from www.nordstrom.com (this dress) but I don't think they deliver to Ireland. www.formalgownsdirect.co.uk also do beautiful dresses. Someone on here (maybe Piste?) got a dress from them and it was perfect. They do made to measure dresses. Also go through ebay, that place can be a right goldmine.

Would you consider getting one made? There's a little shop in Temple Bar near Urban Outfitters called Peekaboo and it always has the most gorgeous dresses in it. Other than that hunting through tiny boutiques dotted around the place is the way to go.

I got my dress from formalgownsdirect, took 3 weeks to ship I think. €170 or thereabouts, might be cheaper now, the sterling-euro rate was awful back then. They no longer seem to do the dress I got, pity. http://file032b.bebo.com/8/large/2007/09/27/15/335283660a5665503855l.jpg (left). It was a bit plummier than that though, you can choose a colour or extra beading, shawl etc. Great site.

www.debsdressdirect.com have a good selection. They're just off the M50 in Ballymount. You can look at the site then just walk in to try it on...
