    hi guys,

a german mate of mine is putting a indie music festival together in munich at end of october this year and is looking for ideas for acts to book.he's trying to find artists with albums out very recently or over the next couple of months.
the voom blooms, the courteeners and empire of the sun have been suggested to him.it will have two stages, one indie/alternative and the other more electro pop (hop chip, mgmt type of vibe) he's looking at bands that would play a medium-sized venue.
    any suggestions much appreciated

    b.

lol, my band will do it if he likes:p

Foals - Released their debut album last year i think. Are currently recording a new album in Hawaii afaik

Bell X1 - Released their 4th album yesterday, haven't listend to it yet though.

Crystal Castles Definite to get the crowd pumping.

Just a few to get you started. I can give you a good few more, if you like any of those.

In reference to my first statement, my band will gladly fly to germany and play. See my sig for a myspace link :)

I may be wrong I would presume he wanted it to be a good festival. :D

Some people think those bands ARE good.

Beirut have an album just out, and a fine one it is too.

Bell Orchestre's second album is on the way and, unless I have some sort of Animal Collective epiphany soon, it's a contender to be my favourite disc of the year - it's really, really good.

Final Fantasy has Heartland on the way, and I'm hugely looking forward to it.

Some people think Kaiser Chiefs are good too. It doesn't mean they're right!

Ah - I'm just being an indie snob, don't mind me.

    Odd that!

Anyway, bruno72, I assume you are looking for realistic suggestions rather than established (read: expensive) artists. Here are a few suggestions that would be fantastic but possibly still within reach:

    Miracle Fortress

    Bent

    " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

(Might not fit exactly into the indie music scene but they would nevertheless go down a treat, I reckon.)

    One Day International

    (Up and coming Irish act.)

    Another one would be Meursault.

Scroll down to 10th on the list below for a listen.

I saw Miracle Fortress open for Final Fantasy a while back, stirring stuff alright.

Same here. I've been a big fan of their album Five Roses ever since.

This Town Needs Guns are a band from Oxford with an album out. Saw them in Whelan's a couple of weeks ago, good set. Enjoying the album atm.

Frightened Rabbit and Passion Pit are two of the best bands i've heard in the last year/18 months.
