Just wondering if anyone knows if its possible to walk from one stand to another in Croke Park? Mate of mine has a single ticket in Cusack but we're seated in Davin. Was hoping for him to join us if we spotted a spare seat nearby where we're seated.

nope. if you haven't a ticket for the section in theory the steward shouldn't allow you in.

There could be a chance but it depends on the stewarding. You can walk right around the horse-shoe from the cusack to davin and onto the hogan.

The entrances to the seating is the problem. If he gets by the steward then no porblem.........that is until somebody realises their empty seat is taken:D

Thanks for that. From experience in other stadiums the stewards don't seem to check tiks 10-15 mins into match once everyone is seated. Should be dead on. Yeeeooo.... Cant wait......;)

You can freely move around inside the stadium, although you'll be extremely lucky to have an empty seat in your section given the occasion.

Do your stewards a favour and follow their directions, sit in your ticketed seat, and don't try and take someone else's seat and cause hassle. I'm not suggesting that you'll do this, just that the stewards have a difficult enough job without dealing with supporters who think it's a free-for-all and that everyone can sit together wherever they like.

If you're in early and sitting in someone else's seats, you'll be asked to move, or even leave the section when the actual ticketholder appears. I understand that it's not the same if people are separated, but just be thankful that you have a ticket to what will be a fantastic event and a great match. Please co-operate with officials and stewards, and while I appreciate that 99.9% of punters are very patient and follow instructions, it can cause problems when people don't sit in their assigned seats, and the genuine ticket holder turns up.

I've witnessed people showing up sometimes 10 or 15 minutes after kick-off looking for their seat (seriously ), so just be aware that you will almost certainly be asked to move should you or your friends be sitting in someone's seat. Also, under no circumstances will anyone be allowed to watch the match from the vestibule (the entrance passage and steps into the stand), or sitting on the steps. Every individual has an assigned ticketed seat, and should be in that seat.

Hopefully things will work out for you, but if they don't, just co-operate with the officials and enjoy the match.:)

Awk bejesus we'd never cause any trouble with the officials or try and nick somebodys seat if they show up. Theres always no shows at a match for one reason or another but don't worry we'll definetly be enjoying it and making the most of it.;)

No, its not possible to do this even if you see a seat that is empty at the time.

I was in the Nally stand last year, first time in Croker so I got there nice and early to get a few pints in.

WHen I got to my seat I looked for the bar, none there (Family stand!) I askeD a couple of stewards could I head over to another part of the ground to get a few pints, not a hope. I was boxed in for the day.

The Nally and Hill terraces are self-contained so once you are in the gate you cannot leave them to go to any of the stands

The stands (Hogan, Davin and Cusack) are all connected and you can walk from one corner of the Hogan to one corner of the Cusack, via the Davin unimpeded

Bring a camera and ask the steward can you go in there for a minute just to get a few snaps ;) or move round from the seated areas with the camera taking a few snaps every so often, not sure if you can this on the premium or upper tiers but you can certainly do so on the lower tier.:)
